Introduction

WS2815B is an intelligent externally-controlled LED light source that integrates control circuitry and illumination circuitry in a single component. Its form factor is identical to a 3535 LED, with each component constituting one pixel. Each pixel incorporates an intelligent digital interface with data latch signal conditioning and amplification drive circuit, a high-precision internal oscillator, and a high-precision constant current control module, ensuring high color consistency across pixels. The data protocol uses single-wire return-to-zero (RZ) communication. After power-on reset, the DIN1 pin receives data transmitted from the controller. The first 24 bits of incoming data are extracted by the first pixel and stored in its internal data latch; the remaining data is reshaped and amplified by the internal signal conditioning circuit, then forwarded via the DO pin to the next cascaded pixel. Each pixel transmission reduces the signal by 24 bits. The pixel employs auto-reshaping and forwarding technology, so the number of cascadable pixels is not limited by signal transmission constraints — only by signal transmission speed requirements. A RESET time of 280µs or more ensures that interruptions will not trigger false resets, enabling support for lower-frequency, cost-effective MCUs.
