Introduction

WS2812E-4020 is an intelligent, externally-controlled LED light source with integrated control circuitry and light-emitting circuit, where each component constitutes a single pixel. Each pixel integrates a smart digital interface with data latch, signal reshaping and amplification drive circuit, a high-precision internal oscillator, and a programmable constant-current control unit, ensuring excellent color and brightness consistency. The data protocol uses single-wire return-to-zero (RZ) communication. After power-on reset, the pixel's DIN port receives data from the controller; the first 24 bits of data are extracted by the first pixel and stored in its internal data latch, while the remaining data is reshaped and amplified by the internal signal-reshaping circuit and forwarded through the DO port to the next cascaded pixel — each pixel reduces the signal by 24 bits. The pixel employs automatic reshaping and forwarding technology, allowing the cascade count to be unrestricted by signal transmission constraints and limited only by signal transmission speed requirements. The port scan frequency reaches up to 2KHz, producing no flickering even under high-speed camera capture, making it ideal for high-speed moving product applications. The RESET time is greater than 280 microseconds, preventing false resets even in the event of an interruption, and supports lower-frequency, more cost-effective MCUs. The LED offers low-voltage drive, environmental friendliness, high brightness, wide scattering angle, excellent consistency, ultra-low power consumption, and an exceptionally long lifespan. Integrating the control circuit directly into the LED results in a simpler circuit design, smaller footprint, and easier installation.
