Introduction
The gen4 7.0" Diablo16 Integrated Display Module is part of the gen4 series of modules designed and manufactured by 4D Systems. This series is designed for easy integration and use, with space requirements and functionality in mind. This particular module features a 7.0" color TFT LCD display, available in no-touch (D), resistive touch (DT), capacitive touch (DCT), or capacitive touch with CLB (DCT-CLB) options. It also offers a Wide Viewing Angle (WVA) option that provides IPS-like viewing angles compared to standard TN displays. The module is powered by the feature-rich 4D Labs Diablo16 graphics processor, offering a range of functional options for any designer, integrator, or user. Diablo16 processor features include 16 customizable GPIOs supporting PWM, serial, I2C, SPI, pulse output, quadrature input, and analog input. The 7.0" Diablo16 Integrated Display Module features a touch-enabled TFT LCD, microSD storage, GPIO and communications, multiple millisecond-resolution timers, and audio generation. The gen4 series is 100% compatible with the Workshop4 IDE and its 4 different development environments, providing users with extensive programming and control system options. Any program designed for other 4D Systems display modules equipped with Picaso or Diablo16 graphics processors can run on this gen4 Integrated Display Module with little or no modification. The gen4 series Integrated Display Modules feature a 30-pin ZIF/FFC/FPC socket designed for connection via a 30-pin FPC cable, enabling simple connection to an application board or motherboard, or to accessory boards for expanded functionality. The gen4 series modules are designed to minimize the footprint of display-related circuitry and provide a platform suitable for integration into products. If required, an application board can be mounted directly behind the gen4 module, as the display-related electronics are housed within the plastic mounting frame, leaving a clear application board surface for the user's circuitry.
