Introduction

The LK162A-4T is an intelligent alphanumeric LCD designed to reduce development time by providing an instant solution for any project. In addition to the RS232, TTL, and I²C protocols available in standard models, the USB communication model allows the LK162A-4T to connect to a wide range of host controllers. Serial protocol communication speeds of up to 115.2kbps and I²C speeds of up to 100kbps ensure extremely fast display updates. A simple command structure allows easy software control over many settings, including backlight brightness, screen contrast, and baud rate. Onboard memory supports up to 40 custom characters, which can be stored on the device and used for splash screens, bar graphs, or larger numerals. The LK162A-4T supports user input via a four-key integrated tactile keypad, while three dual-color LEDs provide visual output. Two additional general-purpose outputs on the back of the device provide simple switchable 5-volt power. This versatile LK162A-4T combines all of the above features with multiple color, voltage, and temperature options, making it suitable for virtually any application.
