Introduction

When you've got sharks in your lair and you're thinking "I really should put lasers on them," then you come across these little laser diode modules — the timing couldn't be more perfect! These self-contained laser diodes are Class IIIa, rated at 5mW with a wavelength of 650nm red light. They can be driven at voltages from 2.8V to 5.2V, making them perfect for your embedded electronics projects. Use them for laser harps, electronic "trip wires," laser light guidance, and more! Simply connect power to the red and black leads and you'll be firing lasers in no time. Note: this is not a laser pointer — it's a diode with an integrated driver. You'll still need a 3 to 5V DC power supply. These diodes are rated at 5mW output power and are labeled with safety markings.
