Introduction

The Broadcom AFBR-2413MZ is an 820 nm silicon PIN photodiode assembly with a metal port, representing an extension of Broadcom's Miniature Links product family. The AFBR-2413MZ generates an analog photocurrent proportional to the intensity of incident light. In typical applications, the AFBR-2413MZ operates under reverse bias and is installed in series with a resistor, from which the output voltage is derived. By increasing the reverse voltage, switching time is reduced, allowing the AFBR-2413MZ to support transmission speeds of up to 10 MBd. The AFBR-2413MZ is compatible with the popular "industry standard" ST¹ connector and is designed for use with 62.5/125 µm and 200 µm optical fiber.
