Introduction

SERCOS (Serial Real-time Communication System) is a standard digital interface for communication in industrial CNC applications. The standard complies with European and international standards. Its optical interface supports data rates of 2, 4, 8, and 16 MBd, enabling data transmission between CNC controllers and drives via fiber optic rings while providing voltage isolation and noise immunity. The HFBR-1505AFZ and HFBR-2505AFZ meet SERCOS optical characteristics and connector style specifications, with guaranteed performance at data rates up to 10 MBd.

PROFIBUS (Process Field Bus) is an open fieldbus standard supporting data transmission over cable or fiber optic at selectable step rates ranging from 9.6 kBd to 12 MBd. The standard is both a German national standard and a European standard. The ST connector is the recommended optical port for the fiber optic version of PROFIBUS, though other connectors are also permitted. The HFBR-1515BFZ and HFBR-2515BFZ fully comply with the technical guidelines for plastic optical fiber at rates up to 6 MBd, with guaranteed performance at data rates up to 10 MBd.

INTERBUS-S is a specialized open sensor/actuator bus widely adopted in the factory automation industry. The HFBR-1505CFZ and HFBR-2505CFZ are designed specifically for this application, compatible with 1 mm plastic optical fiber and 200 µm hard-clad silica fiber at the specified rates of 500 kBd and 2 MBd. Its optical transmission guidelines are a supplement to the German national standard draft; at the European level, prEN 50254 is the draft standard for the INTERBUS-S fieldbus.
