Introduction

The IF-D91B is a high-speed photodiode detector in a "connector-less" plastic optical fiber package. The IF-D91B has an optical response ranging from 450 to 1100 nm, making it compatible with a wide variety of visible and near-infrared LED and laser diode light sources. This includes 650 nm visible red LEDs for optimum transmission in PMMA plastic optical fiber. The detector package features an integral microlens and precision-molded PBT housing to ensure efficient optical coupling with standard 1000 μm core plastic optical fiber cable. The fast response time of the IF-D91B makes it suitable for high-speed digital data links. When used with an appropriate LED or laser diode light source, the IF-D91B is capable of data rates up to 100 Mbps. The IF-D91B can also be used in analog video links with bandwidths up to 70 MHz. The integrated design of the IF-D91B provides a simple and cost-effective implementation for a wide range of analog and digital applications.
