Introduction

WC-PD13F050A PoE module is a legacy Cat 5 and Cat 6 twisted-pair Ethernet power module based on the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard. The module is designed to extract power from a PSE via standard Cat 5 and Cat 6 twisted-pair Ethernet cables. The module input complies with IEEE 802.3af signature detection and classification standards. The module is pre-configured as a Class 1, Type 3 device, allowing it to draw Class 3 power from a PSE with a rated output voltage of 5V. The high-efficiency DC/DC converter achieves approximately 87% efficiency, operates over a wide input voltage range, and delivers low-ripple, low-noise output. The DC/DC converter also features built-in output overload and short-circuit protection, with a 1500Vdc (input-to-output) isolation barrier.
