Introduction

The WC-PD30B012G-1 Power over Ethernet (PoE) module is a legacy Cat5e/Cat6 twisted-pair Ethernet power delivery module based on the IEEE 802.3AT PoE standard. It is designed to extract power from a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and deliver it over standard Cat5e/Cat6 twisted-pair Ethernet cables. The module input complies with IEEE 802.3AT signature detection and classification standards. It is pre-configured as a Type 2 Class 4 device, allowing the module to draw up to Class 4 power from the PSE, with a rated output voltage of 12V. The high-efficiency DC/DC converter achieves approximately 87% efficiency, operates over a wide input voltage range, and provides low ripple and low noise output. The DC/DC converter also features built-in output overload and output short-circuit protection, along with a 1500Vdc (input/output) isolation barrier.
