Introduction

This module is an IEEE 802.3AT PoE-compliant power extraction module for standard Cat 5 and Cat 6 twisted-pair Ethernet, designed to harvest power from a PSE via conventional Cat 5 and Cat 6 Ethernet cables. The module input complies with IEEE 802.3AT signature detection and classification standards, and is pre-configured as a Type 2, Class 4 device, allowing the module to draw Class 4 power from the PSE with a rated output voltage of 12V. The high-efficiency DC/DC converter achieves approximately 87% efficiency and operates over a wide input voltage range with low ripple and low noise output. The DC/DC converter also features built-in output overload and short-circuit protection, and provides a 1500Vdc (input/output) isolation barrier.
