Introduction

The WC-PD25C012J PoE (Power over Ethernet) module is designed to the IEEE 802.3AT PoE standard, intended for extracting power from PSE devices via Cat5e or Cat6 twisted-pair Ethernet cables. The module input complies with IEEE 802.3AT signature detection and classification standards, pre-configured as a Type 2, Class 4 device, allowing Class 4 power draw from a PSE, with a rated output voltage of 12V. The high-efficiency DC/DC converter achieves approximately 87% efficiency, operates over a wide input voltage range, and delivers low-ripple, low-noise output. The DC/DC converter also features built-in output overload and short-circuit protection, along with a 1500Vdc input/output isolation barrier.
