Introduction

This product is a carrier board or breakout board for the Toshiba TB67S2x9FTG series stepper motor drivers. This stepper motor driver can control one bipolar stepper motor and is available in two versions: the TB67S249FTG provides approximately 1.6 A continuous current per phase (4.5 A peak), and the TB67S279FTG provides approximately 1.1 A continuous current per phase (2 A peak). The board features adjustable current control, seven stepping modes (full-step, non-circular half-step, circular half-step, 1/4-step, 1/8-step, 1/16-step, and 1/32-step), and advanced dynamic mixed decay, which dynamically switches between slow and fast decay modes by monitoring the current decay state. The configurable active gain control feature automatically reduces drive current by up to 40% when maximum torque is not required, minimizing power consumption and heat generation. Motor supply voltage range is 10 V to 47 V. A built-in voltage regulator eliminates the need for an external logic supply. Direct interface with 3.3 V and 5 V systems. Features undervoltage lockout and overcurrent/short-circuit and overtemperature protection. Open-load detection capability. An active-low error output indicates overcurrent, overtemperature, or open-load conditions. Compact dimensions of (0.6" × 0.8"). 4-layer, 2 oz copper PCB for improved thermal dissipation. Exposed solderable ground pad under the driver IC on the bottom of the PCB. Ships with all SMT components (including the TB67S2x9FTG driver IC) pre-installed.
