Introduction

The Altistart 22 soft starter complies with pollution degree 2 as defined in NEMA ICS1-1 or IEC 60664. For pollution degree 3 environments, the Altistart 22 soft starter must be installed in a Type 12 or IP54 enclosure. To facilitate proper air circulation within the soft starter, grilles and forced ventilation units can be installed.

Features

• Mount the Altistart 22 soft starter within ±10° of vertical
• Do not install the Altistart 22 soft starter near heat-dissipating components
• Current flowing through the Altistart 22 soft starter generates heat that must be immediately dissipated into the ambient air surrounding the soft starter. To prevent thermal faults, provide adequate enclosure cooling and/or ventilation to limit the ambient temperature around the soft starter
• When installing multiple soft starters in a control panel, arrange them in a single row — do not stack them
