Introduction

The CA-IS322x series are dual-channel isolated gate drivers capable of providing 6A peak sink current and 5A peak source current. These devices support high-speed switching and combine ultra-low propagation delay (56ns typical) with ultra-low pulse width distortion, making them ideal for driving high-power transistors such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, and SiC devices. Operating frequencies up to 5MHz make them suitable for a wide range of applications including inverters, isolated power supplies, and motor drives.

All devices employ capacitive isolation technology, where the input side and driver output side are isolated through silicon dioxide (SiO₂) capacitive dielectric barriers, providing 2.5kV RMS isolation voltage (UL 1577 certified) and a minimum CMTI of 100V/ns. In addition, the internal circuitry provides functional isolation between Driver A and Driver B on the secondary side (output side), capable of withstanding 700V DC operating voltage.

The CA-IS322x series integrates programmable dead time and EN/DIS pin functionality. Furthermore, when the input-side or output-side power supply is unpowered, open, or falls below the UVLO threshold, or when the device is in a disabled state, the driver output is set to its default state: low level. When the input signal is open, the driver output is likewise set to its default state: low level, turning off the external power transistor.

The CA-IS322x series accepts an input-side supply voltage VCC1 ranging from 3V to 18V, and an output-side supply voltage VDD- of up to 25V. The series is offered in an LGA13 package with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
