Introduction

The LTV-3150 optocoupler is ideally suited for driving power IGBTs and MOSFETs used in motor control inverter applications and power system inverters. It contains an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to an IC with a power output stage. The 1.0A peak output current can directly drive most IGBTs rated up to 1200V/50A. For higher-rated IGBTs, the LTV-3150 series can be used to drive a discrete power stage that drives the IGBT gate. The operating parameters of this optocoupler are guaranteed over a temperature range of -40°C to +105°C.
