Introduction
The ACPL-P341/W341 contains an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to an IC with a power output stage. This optocoupler is ideal for driving power IGBTs and MOSFETs in motor control inverter applications. The high operating voltage range of the output stage provides the drive voltage required for gate-controlled devices. The voltage and high peak output current delivered by this optocoupler make it well suited for directly driving IGBTs rated up to 1200V/50A. For higher-rated IGBTs, this optocoupler can be used to drive a discrete power stage, which in turn drives the IGBT gate. The ACPL-P341 and ACPL-W341 offer the highest insulation voltages of VIORM = 891V peak and VIORM = 1140V peak respectively under IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-5.
