Introduction
The Broadcom ACNU-4804 is a single-channel high-speed optocoupler in an SSO8 package. It integrates an AlGaAs LED and a photodetector with a built-in Schmitt trigger to provide logic-compatible waveforms without additional waveshaping. The totem-pole output eliminates the need for pull-up resistors and can directly drive intelligent power modules. The minimized propagation delay spread between devices makes these optocouplers an excellent solution for improving inverter efficiency by reducing switching dead time. The ACNU-4804 is suited for IPM interface isolation, AC and brushless DC motor drives, industrial inverters, and space-constrained industrial applications. This SSO8 package platform features an 11 mm wide creepage distance and 10.5 mm clearance, high insulation voltage of 1414 V peak, and a footprint 40% smaller than a 400-mil DIP8 package.
