Introduction

The Broadcom ACPL-P345/W345 contains an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to an IC with a power output stage. This optocoupler is ideal for driving power, GaN, and SiC MOSFETs used in inverter or AC-DC/DC-DC converter applications. The high operating voltage range of the output stage provides the drive voltage required for gate control devices. The voltage and high peak output current provided by this optocoupler make it well suited for directly driving MOSFETs at high frequencies to achieve efficient conversion. Per IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-5, the ACPL-P345 and ACPL-W345 offer insulation voltages up to 891V peak and 1140V peak, respectively.
