Introduction

The Broadcom ACNU-4803 is a single-channel high-speed optocoupler in an SSO8 package. It features an AlGaAs LED and a photodetector with an integrated Schmitt trigger, providing logic-compatible waveforms without additional wave shaping. The totem-pole output requires no pull-up resistor and can directly drive intelligent power modules. Minimized propagation delay spread between devices makes these optocouplers an excellent solution for improving inverter efficiency by reducing switching dead time. The ACNU-4803 is suitable for IPM interface isolation, AC and brushless DC motor drives, industrial inverters, and space-constrained industrial applications. The SSO8 package platform offers 11 mm wide creepage distance, 10.5 mm clearance, high insulation voltage of 1414 V peak, and a footprint 40% smaller than the 400-mil DIP8 package.
