Introduction

The CA-IS3211 series are single-channel, optocoupler-compatible enhanced isolated gate drivers capable of delivering 6A sink and 5A source current. These devices operate from dual supplies or a single supply (VCC - VEE) ranging from 14V to 30V, making them well suited for driving power MOSFETs, IGBTs, or silicon carbide transistors in inverters, motor control, or isolated power supply systems. The CA-IS3211 can be configured as low-side or high-side drivers. The CA-IS3211Sx provides dual independent output terminals: OUTH and OUTL. When the VCC supply is unpowered, open, or in UVLO condition, the driver output is pulled low to turn off the external power transistor. All devices integrate digital isolation using Chipanalog's proprietary capacitive isolation technology, with an isolation voltage rating up to 7.5kV RMS (for 60 seconds) and a minimum CMTI of 100kV/μs. These devices serve as drop-in replacements for industry-standard optocoupler isolated gate drivers, while offering high CMTI, low propagation delay, low pulse width distortion, and tight device-to-device skew. The input stage uses an analog diode, ensuring long-term reliability and excellent aging resistance. CA-IS3211 devices are available in an 8-pin wide-body SOIC package, with all devices rated for a junction temperature operating range of -40°C to +150°C.
