Introduction

Pai8211x is a single-channel isolated gate driver family available in two isolation voltage ratings compliant with UL1577: 3.75kVrms and 5.0kVrms. The Pai8211A allows independent control of the output signal's rise and fall times, providing a flexible solution for EMI mitigation. The Pai8211C features an integrated active clamp protection function, with the clamp pin connected to the gate of the transistor driven by the output port to prevent false turn-on caused by Miller current.

The output-side VCC2 supply voltage of the Pai8211x ranges from 9.5V to 33V, suitable for driving Si or SiC MOSFET and IGBT power switches. The integrated UVLO protection ensures the output remains low under abnormal conditions. The input-side supply voltage VCC1 operates between 2.5V and 5.5V, supporting the operating voltages of most digital controllers.

Compared to optocouplers, the Pai8211x offers lower propagation delay, lower channel-to-channel propagation delay skew, higher operating temperature, and higher CMTI, providing advantages in driving MOSFETs/IGBTs.
