Introduction

The CA-IS322x series are dual-channel isolated gate drivers capable of delivering 6A peak sink current and 5A peak source current. These devices support high-speed switching, and combined with their ultra-low propagation delay (56ns typical) and ultra-low pulse width distortion, they are ideal for driving high-power transistors such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, and SiC devices. Operating frequencies up to 5MHz make them suitable for various inverter, isolated power supply, and motor drive applications.

All devices employ Chipanalog's proprietary capacitive isolation technology with an integrated digital isolator. The input side and driver output side are isolated via silicon dioxide (SiO₂) capacitive insulation barriers, providing isolation voltage up to 5.7kV_RMS (wide-body SOIC package) (UL1577 certified) and a minimum CMTI of 100V/ns. Additionally, the internal circuitry provides functional isolation between Driver A and Driver B on the secondary side (output side), withstanding a working voltage of 1500V DC.

The CA-IS322x series gate drivers can be configured as dual low-side, dual high-side, or half-bridge drivers with programmable dead time. Enable control (EN pin on CA-IS3222) and disable control (DIS pin on CA-IS3221) allow the outputs of Driver A and Driver B to be rapidly pulled low, turning off the external power transistors. Furthermore, when the input-side or output-side power supply is unpowered, open, or below the UVLO threshold, or when the device is in a disabled state, the driver outputs default to a low state, turning off the external power transistors. When the input signal is open, the driver outputs are likewise defaulted to low, turning off the external power transistors.

The CA-IS322x input-side supply V_CCl accepts a supply range of 3V to 18V, while the output-side supply V_DD_ accepts supply voltages up to 25V. Available in 16-pin or 14-pin wide-body SOIC packages. Operating temperature range: -40°C to +125°C.
