Introduction

CA-IS3211C is an optocoupler-compatible single-channel isolated gate driver for driving MOSFETs, IGBTs, and SiC devices. It features an isolation rating of 5.7kVRMS and provides output peak current capability of 4A source and 5A sink. A supply voltage range of up to 30V allows the use of bipolar power supplies to effectively drive IGBTs and SiC power FETs. Key performance highlights include: high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI), low propagation delay, and low pulse width distortion. Tight process control ensures excellent device-to-device consistency. The input stage uses an analog diode, offering superior long-term reliability and aging characteristics compared to the LEDs used in conventional optocoupler-based isolated gate drivers. Its high performance and reliability make it suitable for industrial power supplies, photovoltaic inverters, on-board chargers, DC motor control, and automotive air conditioning and heating systems.
