Introduction

The UCC53x0 is a series of single-channel isolated gate drivers with various pin-out configurations and drive strengths. The UCC53x0S offers separate outputs to control the rise and fall times independently. The UCC53x0M connects the transistor's gate to an internal clamp to prevent false turn-on caused by Miller current. The UVLO2 of the UCC53x0E is referenced to GND2 to obtain a true UVLO reading. The UCC53x0 is available in 4mm SOIC - 8 (D) or 9mm SOIC - 8 (DWV) packages, which can support isolation voltages of up to 3kV RMS and 5kV RMS respectively. With these various options, the UCC53x0 series is well-suited for motor drives and industrial power supplies. Compared to optocouplers, the UCC53x0 series features lower part-to-part skew, smaller propagation delay, higher operating temperature, and higher CMTI.
