Introduction

The SLMi330 isolated driver is an advanced optocoupler-compatible single-channel isolated IGBT gate driver with active protection features, including desaturation detection, undervoltage lockout, isolated fault detection, and active Miller clamp. The driver delivers 1.5A peak output current with automatic fault reset capability. For devices without the H suffix, the default desaturation threshold is 6.5V; for devices with the H suffix, it is 9V. The input-side supply operates over a voltage range of 3V to 18V, and the output-side supply is rated for 14V to 40V. All supply voltage pins are protected by undervoltage lockout. The internal desaturation fault detection identifies whether the IGBT is in an overcurrent condition. When the desaturation function is triggered, a fault signal is transmitted across the isolation barrier, pulling the input-side fault output low and blocking the isolator input. When turning off the IGBT during normal operation with a bipolar output supply, the output is clamped to VEE. If a unipolar output supply is used, the active Miller clamp can be employed to provide a low-impedance discharge path for Miller current, preventing the IGBT from being dynamically turned on under high-voltage transient conditions. The input side is isolated from the output driver via a 5kVRMS reinforced isolation barrier, with a common-mode transient immunity of at least 150kV/µs.
