Introduction

The Si827x isolated drivers are ideal for driving power switches in a wide range of power supply, inverter, and motor control applications. This driver family employs a proprietary silicon isolation technology that supports UL1577 withstand voltages up to 2.5 kVRMS. This technology achieves industry-leading common-mode transient immunity, precise timing specifications, lower variation over temperature and time, better device-to-device matching, and extremely high reliability. It also provides unique features such as independent source/sink outputs, driver shutdown on UVLO fault, and precise dead-time programmability. Compared to optocoupler gate drivers, the Si827x family offers longer service life and significantly higher reliability. The Si827x drivers utilize proprietary silicon isolation technology to deliver UL1577 withstand voltages up to 2.5 kVRMS and fast propagation times of 60 ns. Driver outputs can be referenced to the same or different grounds, or connected to positive or negative voltages. TTL-level compatible inputs with >400 mV hysteresis provide either independent control input or PWM input configurations. High integration, low propagation delay, small footprint, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness make the Si827x family an ideal choice for a wide variety of isolated MOSFET/IGBT as well as SiC or GaN FET gate drive applications. Automotive-grade products employ automotive-specific processes at every step of the manufacturing flow to ensure the robustness and low defect rates required for automotive applications.
