Introduction

This device is a cost-effective six-channel digital isolator with precise timing and low-power characteristics. It provides high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions when isolating CMOS digital I/O. All versions integrate Schmitt trigger inputs for high noise immunity. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are isolated via silicon dioxide insulating barriers. CA-IS3760C has six unidirectional channels; CA-IS3761C contains five forward channels and one reverse channel; CA-IS3762C contains four forward channels and two reverse channels; CA-IS3763C contains three forward channels and three reverse channels. All devices offer fail-safe mode options. If the input-side power supply is lost or the signal is absent, devices with suffix L default to a low output, while devices with suffix H default to a high output. The high isolation capability of this device helps prevent noise and surges on data buses or other circuits from reaching the local ground, thereby avoiding interference with or damage to sensitive circuits. Its high common-mode transient immunity ensures correct transmission of digital signals. The device is available in 16-pin narrow-body SOIC and 16-pin wide-body SOIC packages, with the narrow-body package rated at 3.75kVRMS isolation and the wide-body package supporting insulation withstand voltage up to 5kVRMS.
