Introduction

CA-IS374xC is a cost-effective quad-channel digital isolator with precise timing characteristics and low power dissipation. When isolating CMOS digital I/O, CA-IS374xC devices provide high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions. All device versions feature CMOS logic inputs for high noise immunity. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulating barrier. The CA-IS3740C has all four channels in the same direction, with output enable on the output side (Side B); the CA-IS3741C has three forward and one reverse channel, with output enable on both sides; the CA-IS3742C has two forward and two reverse channels, with output enable on both sides. All devices feature a failsafe mode option. If the input-side voltage or signal is lost, devices with suffix L default to a low output, while devices with suffix H default to a high output. CA-IS374xC devices offer high isolation capability, helping to prevent noise and surges on data buses or other circuits from reaching the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry. High CMTI capability ensures correct transmission of digital signals. CA-IS374xC devices are available in a 16-pin wide-body SOIC package, supporting isolation voltage ratings up to 5kVRMS. Channels A and B are separated by isolation capacitors. GNDA and GNDB are connected to the isolated grounds of the Side A signal and Side B power supply, respectively.
