Introduction

The ADuM4154 is an SPIsolator digital isolator optimized for SPI, supporting up to four slave devices. Based on ADI's iCoupler chip-scale transformer technology, the CLK, MO/SI, MI/SO, and SS SPI bus signals feature low propagation delay and jitter, supporting SPI clock rates up to 17 MHz. The ADuM4154 isolator also provides a slave-select multiplexing system, allowing a single isolator to serve up to four slave devices. When a target slave device is selected, the slave-select signal is passed to the required output with low propagation delay, enabling tight timing control. By addressing the isolated SSx via a low-speed, dual-channel address bus at 250 kbps, the target slave device can be changed in as little as 2.5 µs.
