Introduction

The ISO7420FCC provides up to 2500VRMS current isolation for up to 1 minute in compliance with UL standards, and 4242VPK in compliance with VDE standards. This device has two isolated channels. Each channel has a logic input and output buffer, and the two devices are separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barrier. When used with an isolated power supply, this device can prevent noise currents on the data bus or other circuits from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuits. The suffix F indicates a low-output option under fail-safe conditions. The device has an integrated noise filter and is suitable for harsh environments where short noise pulses may appear on the device input pins. The ISO7420FCC has transistor-transistor logic (TTL) input thresholds and operates with a supply voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V. When powered by a 2.7V or 3.3V supply, all inputs can tolerate 5V.
