Introduction

CA-IS386x is a high-performance six-channel digital isolator with precise timing characteristics and low power consumption. When isolating CMOS digital I/O, the CA-IS386x provides high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions. All device versions feature Schmitt-trigger inputs for high noise immunity. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are isolated by a silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulating barrier. CA-IS3860 has six channels in the same direction; CA-IS3861 has five forward and one reverse channel; CA-IS3862 has four forward and two reverse channels; CA-IS3863 has three forward and three reverse channels. All devices offer a fail-safe mode option. If the input-side power supply fails or the signal is lost, devices with suffix L default output low, while devices with suffix H default output high.

The CA-IS386x provides high isolation capability, helping to prevent noise and surges on data buses or other circuits from reaching the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuits. High CMTI capability ensures correct transmission of digital signals. The CA-IS386x is available in a 16-pin wide-body SOIC package. All products support an isolation withstand voltage of up to 5.7kVRMS.
