Introduction

The ISO7221CDG4 digital isolator delivers outstanding performance characteristics and reliability, surpassing optocouplers and other digital isolators based on alternative technologies. The device employs a next-generation intelligent voltage division technology based on capacitive coupling principles, enabling precise transmission of voltage signals across the isolation barrier without the need for modulation and demodulation. Each transmission channel is independent, supporting multiple channel direction configurations, with isolation voltage ratings from 1.5kV rms to 5.0kV rms and signal transmission rates from DC to 600Mbps. It supports 3.0V operating voltage and is compatible with signal level translation between 3.0V and 5.5V. When the input-side power supply is unpowered or no input signal is present while the output-side power supply is active, the isolator output maintains a default logic level.
