Introduction

CA-IS383x is a high-performance three-channel digital isolator with precise timing characteristics and low power dissipation. When isolating CMOS digital I/O, the CA-IS383x devices provide high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions. All device versions feature Schmitt-trigger inputs for high noise immunity. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are isolated by silicon dioxide (SiO2) dielectric barriers. The CA-IS3830 has all three channels in the same direction, with output enable on the output side (Side B). The CA-IS3831 has two forward and one reverse channel, with output enable on both sides. All devices feature a failsafe mode option. If the input-side power supply is lost or the signal is absent, devices with the suffix L default to a low output, while devices with the suffix H default to a high output.

The CA-IS383x devices offer high isolation capability, helping to prevent noise and surges on data buses or other circuits from reaching the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry. High CMTI capability ensures correct transmission of digital signals. The CA-IS383x devices are available in a 16-pin wide-body SOIC package and a 16-pin extra-wide-body SOIC package. The wide-body package supports isolation withstand voltage up to 5.7kVrms. The extra-wide-body package supports isolation withstand voltage up to 7.5kVrms.
