Introduction

The HCS410 is a code hopping transponder device for secure entry systems. The HCS410 utilizes the patented KEELOQ code hopping system and a bidirectional challenge-response mechanism for logical and physical access control. The high-security learning mechanism makes it a turnkey solution when used with KEELOQ decoders. The encryption key and synchronization information are stored in a protected on-chip EEPROM.

A low-cost, battery-free transponder can be realized by adding one inductor and two capacitors. A packaged module including the inductor and capacitors will also be available.

A single HCS410 can serve as both an encoder for remote keyless entry (RKE) and an anti-theft transponder in the same circuit, significantly reducing the cost of combined transmitter/transponder circuits.
