Introduction

The HCS362 is a code hopping encoder designed specifically for secure remote keyless entry (RKE) systems. The HCS362 utilizes KEEL·0Q⊕ code hopping technology, which combines high security, a compact form factor, and low cost, making this device an ideal solution for one-way RKE and access control systems.

The HCS362 combines a 32-bit hopping code generated by a nonlinear encryption algorithm with a 28/32-bit serial number and 9/5 status bits to create a 69-bit transmission stream. The transmission length eliminates the threat of code scanning. The code hopping mechanism ensures each transmission is unique, thereby rendering code capture and replay (code grabbing) attacks ineffective.

The key, serial number, and configuration data are stored in an EEPROM array that cannot be accessed through any external connections. Data in the EEPROM is programmable but read-protected. Data can only be verified after an auto-erase and programming operation. This prevents attempts to retrieve the key or manipulate synchronization values. The HCS362 provides an easy-to-use serial interface for programming the required keys, system parameters, and configuration data.
