Introduction

DeepCover embedded security solutions protect sensitive data through multiple layers of advanced physical security technology to provide the most secure key storage possible. The DeepCover Secure Authenticator (DS24L65) is a SHA-256 coprocessor with an integrated 1-Wire master function, providing the host system with the SHA-256 and memory capabilities required to communicate with and operate 1-Wire SHA-256 slave devices. In addition, it performs protocol translation between a 2-complement master and any connected 1-Wire SHA-256 slave devices. For 1-Wire line driving, an internal user-adjustable timer reduces the burden on the system host processor for generating time-critical 1-Wire waveforms, supporting both standard and overdrive 1-Wire communication speeds. The 1-Wire line can be powered down under software control. A strong pullup function supports powering 1-Wire devices such as EEPROMs. When not in use, the DS24L65 can enter sleep mode, where power consumption is minimal.
