Introduction

These devices, compliant with IETF PWE3 SAToP/CESoPSN/TDMoIP/HDLC standards, allow transparent transport of up to 8 E1, T1, or serial streams, or 1 high-speed E3, T3, STS-1, or serial stream over IP, MPLS, or Ethernet networks. Recovered clock jitter and wander meet G.823/G.824, G.8261, and TDM specifications. TDM data is transported in up to 64 individually configurable bundles. All standards-based TDM-over-packet mapping methods are supported except AAL2. Frame-based serial HDLC data streams are also supported. Full-featured E1/T1 framers and line interface units (LIUs) are built in. These ICs integrate a complete TDM-over-packet solution from analog E1/T1 signals to Ethernet MII, while retaining the option to access TDM streams at key intermediate points. The high integration of DS34T10x devices minimizes cost, reduces board space, and shortens time to market.
