Introduction

The Fairchild 9930 Series Diode Transistor Micro-Logic is a member of the Compatible Current Sinking Logic (CCSL) family, designed for systems requiring good noise immunity, moderate speed, moderate power, and good fan-out. 0πμL is available in CERPAK and hermetic DIP packages over the full temperature range. The basic member of the family is an active-low output AND gate, commonly referred to as a NAND gate. Noise immunity is typically 1 volt, with a worst-case noise immunity of 400mV over the temperature range. Power dissipation per gate function is typically 8.5mW at 50% duty cycle. Average propagation delay per gate function is 30ns. A single 5V ±10% supply is used. A variety of gate configurations are offered, providing the system designer with great logic flexibility and helping to minimize packaging requirements. Gate outputs may be tied together to perform a wired-OR function. Some gates are provided with 2K pull-up resistors to improve propagation delay time. Expanders are available for some gates to increase fan-in. The 9932 buffer features an active pull-up to provide higher capacitive drive and greater fan-out. The 9944 has an open-collector output, allowing wired-OR operation or driving low-power lamps. Buffer fan-in can be expanded using the 9933. Binary products are direct-coupled master-slave flip-flops, making operation independent of the rise and fall times of the clock pulse. Binary products include direct clear, direct set, and buffered outputs to provide isolation between the outputs and the slave circuit. The Vcc and ground terminals of all devices are located at diagonal corners of the package, allowing two degrees of freedom when routing power and ground traces on the PCB. Simple loading rules are employed so that the fan-in and fan-out capability of each device can be quickly determined. The 0Tμl 9930 Series is compatible with CCSL devices, including LPDTμL, πμ⌊, MμL, Medium Scale Integration (MSI), and Micromatrix™ array products.
