Introduction

This is a low-power single-chip synthesizer with integrated effects and a built-in codec. It features a single-chip integrated design incorporating a MIDI control processor, serial and parallel interfaces, enabling synthesis and General MIDI wavetable synthesis. The effects engine is General MIDI-compatible, providing reverb and chorus effects along with spatial effects capability. The chip integrates a 4-band stereo equalizer, stereo DAC (typical dynamic range 86dB, typical THD+N -75dB), and microphone input (typical dynamic range 86dB, typical THD+N -75dB), with microphone echo support. It employs advanced synthesis technology for cost-effectiveness. The chip offers 64-voice polyphony (without effects) or 38-voice polyphony (with effects), and integrates on-chip CleanWave wavetable data, firmware, and RAM delay lines. Audio output is stereo line-out. It comes in a QFN48 (6×6mm) package with a compact footprint and low pin count. Power consumption is low, with a typical operating current of 18mA and typical power-down current of 17μA. Powered by a single 3.3V supply.
