Introduction

The CS3310 is a complete stereo digital volume controller designed specifically for audio systems. It features a 16-bit serial interface that controls two independent low-distortion audio channels. The CS3310 incorporates a well-matched resistor array and a low-noise active output stage capable of driving 600Ω loads. With 95.5dB of attenuation and 31.5dB of gain, a total adjustment range of 127dB is achieved in 0.5dB steps. A simple 3-wire interface enables daisy-chaining of multiple CS3310s for multi-channel audio systems. The device operates from ±5V supplies with an input/output voltage range of ±3.75V.
