Introduction

The TDA7442/42D is a volume, tone (bass and treble), and balance (left/right) processor for high-quality audio applications in television and hi-fi systems. It reproduces surround sound using a programmable phase shifter. All functions are controlled via a serial bus. AC signal settings are achieved through a combination of resistor networks, switches, and op-amps. The BIPOLAR/CMOS technology employed delivers low distortion, low noise, and DC step control.
