Introduction

The AS3524 implements a highly flexible and fully integrated digital audio processor system, combining powerful computing capability with high-performance interfaces commonly used in audio player systems. Leveraging advanced 0.13μm process technology and large on-chip RAM, the ARM922T microcontroller core achieves power consumption as low as 0.3mW/MHz under typical MP3 player software applications, with the entire system consuming as low as 0.6mW/MHz. Based on the powerful ARM9TDMI, capable of executing up to 200MIPS, it is well-suited for running decoders and encoders such as MP3, AAC, WMA, and OGG, while also supporting rich user interfaces, dynamic graphics, video playback, and more. The AS3524 SOC features dedicated high-speed interfaces for ATA IDE, USB2.0 HS-OTG, and SDRAM, ensuring optimal performance for downloading, uploading, and playback. In addition, interfaces for NAND flash, MMC/SD cards, and Memory Stick guarantee maximum flexibility in system design. Hardware support for the parallel interface reduces CPU load when serving complex and/or color user interfaces. Additional high-speed serial data and control interfaces ensure connectivity with other peripherals and processors in the system. Two independently programmable PLLs simultaneously generate the required frequencies for audio playback/recording, the processor core, and the USB interface.
