Features

• MAX4397DA/SA dual SCART switch matrix routes audio and video signals between an MPEG encoder and two external SCART connectors under I²C control, compliant with EN50049-1, IEC 933-1, Canal+, and BSkyB standards.
• Video and audio channels feature input source selection multiplexers, input buffers, and output buffers to route all inputs to selected outputs. The MAX4397DA audio encoder input is differential DC-coupled, while the MAX4397SA audio encoder input is single-ended AC-coupled. All inputs and outputs except the MAX4397DA audio encoder input are AC-coupled with internal DC bias set to predefined levels.
• MAX4397DA/SA provides programmable gain control for R, G, B component video signals from +5dB to +7dB in 1dB steps. All other video outputs have a fixed +6dB gain. Additional features include an internal luminance and chrominance (Y/C) mixer for generating composite video signal (CVBS) for RF modulator output, and an internal video reconstruction low-pass filter with passband ripple of -1dB to +1dB between 100kHz and 5.5MHz.
• MAX4397DA/SA TV audio channels feature click-free switching and programmable volume control from -56dB to +6dB in 2dB steps. VCR audio outputs also support programmable gain of -6dB, 0dB, or +6dB. The device can generate mono audio from left and right stereo inputs. All audio drivers deliver a minimum output of 3.0VRMS.
• MAX4397DA/SA operates from standard 5V and 12V supplies, supporting slow-switching and fast-switching signals. The I²C interface enables programming of gain and volume control and selection of input sources for routing.
• MAX4397DA/SA is housed in a compact 48-pin thin QFN package, rated for commercial temperature range of 0°C to +70°C.
