Introduction

TM2317/27 is a headphone driver IC designed for active noise cancellation (ANC) in in-ear and over-ear headphones. The ANC function is implemented through analog circuitry, featuring low power consumption and low cost. The IC integrates an internally adjustable microphone gain amplifier, and both left and right channels each incorporate two filter amplifiers. Combined with different external filter circuits, various noise cancellation functions can be developed. When using a feedforward ANC design, the maximum ANC frequency can reach 3 kHz; when using a feedback ANC design, the maximum ANC frequency can reach 1 kHz. The IC integrates a bypass switch function — when the headphone battery is low, the ANC circuit module shuts down and automatically switches to bypass mode, allowing the headphones to continue playing audio normally through the bypass switch. This ensures the headphones remain fully functional even when the battery cannot be charged in time.
