Introduction

The FDMF5075 is a next-generation smart power stage solution from ON Semiconductor, featuring fully optimized, ultra-compact integrated MOSFETs and drivers for high-current, high-frequency synchronous buck DC-DC converters. This integrated solution optimizes switching performance of the smart power stage, dynamic performance of the driver and MOSFETs, and minimizes system inductance and power MOSFET on-resistance. By integrating power MOSFETs with a driver IC, the device achieves high-accuracy module thermal monitoring and current monitoring. The FDMF5075 provides an output signal for reporting real-time module current. This signal is a high-accuracy, 5 μA/A proportional signal representing the real-time current at the power MOSFET drain. This signal can be used as an alternative to output filter inductor DCR current sensing or resistor sensing methods. The FDMF5075 also includes a high-accuracy module thermal monitoring signal. This signal is a PTAT voltage source signal, calibrated to provide 0.8 V output at 25°C with a slope of 8 mV/°C.
