Introduction

FDMF5068 is onsemi's next-generation smart power stage solution featuring fully optimized, ultra-compact integrated MOSFETs with an advanced driver IC current and temperature sensor, designed for high-current, high-frequency synchronous buck DC-DC converters. Through the integrated approach, this smart power stage is optimized for dynamic performance of the driver and MOSFETs, reduced system parasitics, and RDS(ON) of the power MOSFETs. Integrating power MOSFETs with the driver IC also enables high-accuracy module-level thermal monitoring and current monitoring. The FDMF5068 provides an output signal for reporting real-time module current, which can be used as an alternative to inductor DCR current sensing or resistor sensing methods. In addition, it provides precise thermal monitoring with an output of 0.8V at 25°C and a slope of 8mV/°C.
