Introduction

International Rectifier's IRAMS06UP60B is an integrated power module developed and optimized for electronic motor control in home appliance applications, particularly suited for VF compressor drives in refrigerators and freezers, or electronic fan control in heating and ventilation systems. The IRAMS06UP60B delivers an extremely compact, high-performance AC motor drive in a single isolated package with a very simple design.

The module incorporates an internal shunt resistor for easy current feedback and overcurrent monitoring, enabling precise control and safe operation. Built-in temperature monitoring and overcurrent protection, combined with short-circuit-rated IGBTs and integrated undervoltage lockout, provide a high level of protection and fail-safe operation. The high-side driver section integrates bootstrap diodes, and the drive internal circuitry requires only a single-polarity power supply, simplifying module usage and further reducing costs.
