Introduction
Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs) are rated for specific AC line operating voltages, and exceeding these limits due to sustained abnormal overvoltage conditions can cause MOV overheating and damage. The Littelfuse TMOV25S varistor series is designed to address this issue in a single integrated package. This series incorporates a patented thermally responsive element within the device that opens the varistor circuit when overheating occurs due to abnormal overvoltage events. The TMOV25S varistor series meets UL1449 4th Edition certification requirements for surge suppression components in cord-connected and permanently connected Surge Protective Device (SPD) end products.
