Introduction

The MLA Series Transient Voltage Surge Suppression devices are based on Littelfuse multilayer manufacturing technology. These components are designed to suppress a wide variety of transient events, including those specified in IEC 61000-4-2 or other EMC standards. The MLA Series is commonly used to protect ICs and other components at the board level. The wide operating voltage and energy range makes the MLA Series suitable for numerous applications on power, control, and signal lines. The MLA Series is made from semiconducting ceramic in a leadless SMT package. It is compatible with modern reflow and wave soldering processes. Compared to Zener diodes, it operates over a wider temperature range and occupies significantly less board space than plastic-packaged components. Littelfuse also manufactures other multilayer series products.
